This class focuses on how imagination is the basis for science and the two have always worked together to create some of the greatest ideas in history. Students examine the life of Leonardo DaVinci, the scientist, inventor and artist and learn how he integrated this kind of thinking in his life and work. Students use Leonardo’s notebooks as inspiration, and each week take a theme and draw out an invention of their own in their Da Vinci-style notebooks. They then make a model of their invention using new and re-purposed materials.
